Zip Card and Meal Plans

Zip Cards:

Zip Cards are used by students to provide identification, use meal plans, block plans, and Bearfare, and to defer or pay for items on campus. Most students receive a zip card when they go through SOAR, but students may order a card through the Zip Card Office in Plaster Student Union room 128. A photo ID is required to receive a card.

Note that students receive their first zip card for free, but replacing lost or stolen cards is $10. For more information, contact the Zip Card Office at (417) 836-8409.

Campus Meal Plans:

Meal plans on campus can be obtained through the Sodexho Dining Services Office in Plaster Student Union room 213. Students living on-campus may also purchase meal plans through the Office of Residence Life in Hammons House 104.

A variety of meal plan options exist for students, with the basic offerings as follows:

  • Traditional Meal Plans: these plans consist of 10, 14, 19, or Unlimited meals per week and can only be used in dining centers.
  • Block Meal Plans: block plans can be purchased in the amount of 25-75 meals per semester and can be used at dining centers as well as Grill 155, Boomers, and Cafe a la Cart.
  • Bearfare: Bearfare can be purchased in any amount and can be used at most campus vendors after 1:00 p.m. or any time during the weekend. However, Bearfare can not be used in dining centers.
