Computer and Technology Issues:

Computer Problems:

Students experiencing problems with their internet connection, their Bearmail account, or any other computer issue should contact the Computer Services Help Desk at 417-836-5891 or helpdesk@missouristate.edu. The Help Desk is located in Cheek Hall room 150.

 

Email (Bearmail) Accounts:

Most new students will be able to set up their Bearmail accounts during SOAR. For students who have not previously set up an account, they may do so through the "My Information" page under Bearmail. This site can also be used for students who have forgotten their password (the password can be reset using your PIN).

Accounts may also be set up in-person at one of the campus computer labs. For more information, contact the Computer Services Help Desk at 417-836-5891 or helpdesk@missouristate.edu. The Help Desk is located in Cheek Hall room 150.

Purchasing Computers, Software, and Other Items:

Technological supplies can be purchased on campus at either Computer Connection in the University Bookstore or in the Bearhouse Technology store in Plaster Student Union. These locations can also special order certain items and provide student-discounted rates on computers and other products.

 

Blackboard:

Blackboard is an online course supplement that enables professors to email students, post grades, and upload course materials such as syllabi and lecture notes.

Students should be aware of professors that utilize Blackboard and should enroll in the system early in the semester so that they will be sure to receive important emails and have access to course documents. For questions or help enrolling, visit the Blackboard homepage or talk to an employee at one of the campus computer labs.
