Staff Development Enhances Personal, Professional Growth

The Student Affairs Staff Development Series Committee presented its first session, “Inspired Technology”, on Thursday, February 26th in the PSU Theater. Over eighty attendees participated in this engaging session, which focused on how Missouri State and our benchmark institutions are currently using new technology and how Student Affairs can use such applications as blogs, “Twitter”, YouTube, and Facebook to more effectively reach students.   • March 20 - "Personal Finance- Staying Afloat in Today’s Economic Tidal Wave,” 9:30am – 11:00am in PSU Ballroom East.
  • April 17 - “Integrating the Public Affairs Mission into the Division” featuring guest speaker Dr. Rachelle Darabi, 9:30am – 10:30am in PSU Ballroom East
  • May 20 - End of the Year Celebration, time and location TBA.

The staff development series committee is charged with developing a monthly series  of personal and professional development activities for the MSU student affairs staff, keeping in mind the diverse roles and responsibilities of staff members. Committee members represent a variety of student affairs departments and serve in an advisory role to the Vice President.

As the staff development committee begins planning next academic year’s series, the committee will be assessing division members to better determine session topics of interest. Should you have ideas for future session topics, please share them with committee chairperson Thomas Lane at ThomasLane@missouristate.edu.
