At Missouri State we believe that a strong relationship between a parent and student, coupled with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the educational process and University programs, will lead to improved student performance, satisfaction and general success. We also believe that it is important for the University to provide "opportunities" to foster interaction and present a common experience that students and parents can share. While we have always sponsored a "Parents/Family" event in the fall, and many groups sponsor activities in April and May, we have recognized the absence of a structured event that brings you to the campus to share an activity with your son or daughter during the winter months. Given this realization and number of recent enhancements to the campus, please accept our invitation to participate in the First Annual Parents Winter Weekend.

Saturday, February 21 - Special Program Activities

• Registration - Blair Shannon Grand Lounge
  • This is the opportunity to pick up the final program for the day, to pay for the meals and game tickets, and to meet with staff and students to plan your itinerary.

  • Missouri State University Bookstore - Major discounts on clothing apparel for the family.

• Sparkling Brunch Buffet - Blair Shannon Dining Center
  • Omelets to order, cereals, pastries, fruits, cheeses, carved meat and much more.
  • Cost is $5.00 per person (Free to parents if your student lives in the residence halls; students may use their meal plan).

• Buffet Dinner - at the Plaster Student Union - Union Club
  • Salad, 2 entrees, sides, rolls, dessert, coffee, and tea.
  • Cost is $10.00 per person.

7:30 PM - 11:00 PM

• Open Game Room - Level 1 Game Center 
  • Free bowling, pool tables, Wii, and other activities.

8:00 PM - 10:15 PM

• High School Musical 3
  • Plaster Student Union Theater
  • Free

Our goal is to provide a program which creates a special day for our students and their parents and family members who attend. We hope you will clear your calendars and participate in this weekend program.
