Student Affairs Advisory Board

Board description

The Division of Student Affairs Student Advisory Board exists to provide open dialogue and discussion between Missouri State University students and the Vice President for Student Affairs. This fourteen-member board, open to both graduate and undergraduate students, has been charged with providing deliberate input to the Vice President regarding out-of-classroom experiences and student life. In addition, this board seeks to provide the Vice President a glimpse into the lives of Missouri State students. The board will meet once monthly during the lunch hour to offer an additional voice to the Division of Student Affairs on current issues affecting students. Meetings are hosted by the Vice President for Student Affairs who requests input from students offering different aspects of student interest.

Meetings

The Board will meet once monthly, during the lunch hour as determined by the Vice President for Student Affairs. Students are encouraged to attend all meetings, if possible. In addition, students will be expected to attend a one-on-one meeting with the Vice President, Dr. Dee Siscoe, once during the semester.

Benefits

Student Advisory Board members will have their picture and information posted on the Student Affairs website lasting through their tenure on the board. Board members will also receive free lunch during the meetings they attend with the Vice President for Student Affairs. In addition, students will have the opportunity to network with University administrators and make campus a more welcoming and inclusive environment for peers.
