How can a student find a job?
Student Employment Services can assist students with finding jobs both on or off campus.
On-Campus Jobs
There are eligibility requirements to work on campus. These requirements are as follows:
- Fall or spring semester - minimum of 6 credit hours in each semester employed.
- Summer semester - minimum of 3 credit hours or pre-enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the upcoming fall and have been enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours the previous spring.
Off-Campus Jobs
The Student Employment Services job search website is searchable for jobs both on and off campus. Off-campus employers may post jobs. Students apply directly to the employer(s) as indicated in each listing and are not guaranteed a position.
Work Study
Work study is paid through federal funding allocated to the University instead of the individual office's budget. Work study information for both students and departments can be found on the Student Employment Services work study website.
International Student Employment
International students are restricted in the amount of part-time employment allowed on campus, and off-campus employment permission must be requested from the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. Violation of these restrictions can jeopardize the student's status, and subject both the student and University to penalties as found in the University's International Students policy found in the University's policy library.
Department/Supervisor Information
The Student Employment Services website contains a department information and forms website which has the forms and information departments need as they hire student employees.
